NATHAN BRAY

BIOGRAPHY

Nathan Bray was born in Virginia, Minnesota. Bray received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in ceramics from Bemidji State University, Bemidji, Minnesota, in 2009. Nathan was a resident artist at the Carbondale Clay Center from 2011 to 2012. Bray has worked from his home studio in Northern Minnesota since 2013. 

ARTIST STATEMENT

My passion to create with clay is driven by new ideas and techniques involved with the processes. The work I create gathers influence from my passion with cars, electricity, flowers, as well as graphic and pop art. I enjoy using the plasticity of clay to emphasize the soft and rigid qualities the medium has to offer. I currently work with terra cotta clay, slip, underglazes, glazes and overglaze lusters.
