BIOGRAPHY
Natalie is an artist from the East Coast, currently working in the Roaring Fork Valley, Colorado. Her focus, in creating art classes, ceramic works, murals, and nature-based arts, nurtures and encourages enrichment in her community, expression, creative play and healing. Each work of art is infused with Reiki, a Japanese healing technique she has practiced daily for over 18 years. She believes art is an integral piece in creating and fostering beauty, connectivity, harmony + understanding in our world.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Natalie’s sculptural works are representations of sacred and communal activities. These works point towards the inherent value and joy in creating, gathering and honoring medicine from the earth, and celebrating loved ones. While making, she incorporates reiki, collaborating with the healing energy that she finds in clay. She gathers and adds used tea leaves to her clay and slips infusing her belief in food as medicine; the burn-out of the leaves is a memory mark of healing, a remembrance of what once was, where it came from, and hopes for where it may go.
