BIOGRAPHY

“I’ve been doing clay for 76 years, roughly, and I’d like to do it for 76 more years because that’s how fun it is. I’ve taught pottery at The Aspen Community School where we would dig up our own clay out of the hillside and we’d fire it in an oil-fired kiln. It was the dirtiest I’ve ever been in my life, and it really hooked my interest in clay. For 20 years, I was privileged to teach a mixed class of adults and kids with Jane Edwards called the Clay Scramble. I truly enjoyed that experience and found clay to be so friendly to the hand that it just begs for continued exploration.”
