ARTIST STATEMENT
Having made pots now for about 40 years, I am surprised that is still both a hopeful and troublesome effort to make a pot I feel satisfied with. The parameters of pottery making require an acceptance of the confinement of utility. I hope that my work can do its duty yet stand on its own as a visual object. The pots we use in our home act more like engaging tools than anything else.
