JOSEPH POEHLMAN

BIOGRAPHY

Joseph Poehlman grew up in southern California and went to school originally for photography, but once he got his hand on some clay, he hasn't gotten his hands clean of clay sense. He has studied under two Kansas city graduates and graduated with a BFA from CSU Fullerton. 

ARTIST STATEMENT

Growing up My grandfather taught me how to fix things around the house and my father (a contractor) taught me how to make a house look good. I spent a lot of time with my father on different jobsites and we bonded a lot driving in the car going from one jobsite to another. Those moments now inspire me to make artwork about the different types of hats contractors have to ware and the different kinds of jobs they have to do.
