ARTIST STATEMENT
My work focuses on the functional. Because there is only so much room in our lives for things, I want the things I make to beautiful and useful. Clay has been the most challenging material I have ever worked with. It is forgiving and unforgiving. Working with it ranges from the meditative to the labor intensive. It demands a clear intention and acceptance of the unexpected. It is compelling.
